Can I write my own Will?
Yes, you can. In Michigan, as long as your Will is in your handwriting, signed by you, and dated by you, it is a valid Will. If your Will is typed, then two witnesses must witness your signature.
However, a Will prepared by you personally is much more likely to being challenged in Court. A Will prepared by an attorney is not. Just remember, there is a reason that attorneys prepare Wills. They know the law and what is necessary to put in the document to make sure your wishes are followed without issues.
